About Us

The Passion Project foundation

We are all human

While everyone wants different things from life, our desires all come from the same place.

The desire to succeed. The desire to belong. The desire to be loved.

Whoever you are, whatever your background, we all share the same basic incentives. But we don’t all have access to the tools that can help us fulfill these needs and realise our aspirations.

We think everyone deserves the chance to thrive. So we provide young people with access to a range of educational activities designed to help them realise their potential.

By giving individuals the tools they need to navigate life from an early age, we believe we can help make society better for everybody.

Early intervention
saves lives

As a society, we focus a lot of energy on trying to help people in need or fix situations where things have already gone wrong.

Of course, tackling challenges like crime and youth violence, addiction and substance misuse, unemployment and inequality is an essential activity for any society. As well as harming the individuals involved, these issues can also have a profound and long-lasting effect on the wider community.

The approach to these issues is often to try and treat their symptoms. But we believe we need to understand why these things happen. Why do people find themselves in adverse situations? Why do they behave the way that they behave? And how can they improve their lives? If we can help individuals identify and understand their behaviour from an early age, then they’ll be better placed to overcome challenges in later life. Which we believe can go someway to preventing these issues in the first place.

OUR
VISION

We want to educate and empower young people by helping them unlock their talent, achieve their potential and find their life’s purpose.

OUR
MISSION

To build an academy of excellence dedicated to the research, development and delivery of products and services that help deliver our vision for young people and guide policy makers in their future decision making process.

Effect

As a society we understandably focus a lot of our energy and resources on trying to fix people or situations where things have gone wrong i.e the effect. Tackling topics such as crime, unemployment, addiction & substance misuse, youth violence, corruption, conflicts, poverty, climate change, inequality, etc are an essential activity but are also very costly not just in monetary terms but in human terms to the individuals involved and their wider communities.

Cause

Our focus is very much focused on the why? Why do people do what they do and how do they change their direction in life? As part of that process we get them to revise the way they look at life and attract different people, situations into their life and as a result help mitigate some of the negative effects that they may experience in later life.

Our Focus

We believe there is growing evidence to support the theory that there is a missing ingredient in the lives of young people and it is having a big impact on their mental health and wellbeing as well as their achievements in life – this being the healthy development of their emotional intelligence.

As stated our vision is to help educate and empower young people and in the process help them achieve their potential. In order for us to do this we put the individuals self-development process at the heart of everything we do.

Our commitment to this vision has already seen over 8 years of work with leading academics in early intervention and the UK schools curriculum resulting in a new social, moral, spiritual and cultural (SMSC) MSC product for primary schools. This is being further supported within the pan London social impact bond which will be continuously developed with a growing group of academics from the UK and the US as part of a knowledge sharing initiative

All of our work is contributing to academic research, and is being evaluated for socio and economic impact. Our intention is to prove that Emotional Intelligence is a force multiplier in the creation of social impact.

The historical work carried out by the Foundations founding trustee had academics attached from the US since 2011.

Empowering Young People Through Education

We think everyone deserves the chance to thrive. So we provide young people with access to a range of educational activities designed to help them realise their potential. By giving individuals the tools they need to navigate life from an early age, we believe we can help make society better for everybody.

Early intervention saves lives

Being Your Emotionally Intelligient Best

There is growing evidence to suggest that the healthy development of emotional intelligence is a key part of this discovery process.

We think the current lack of provision for the development of young people’s emotional intelligence is having a big impact on our collective mental health and wellbeing. This is because emotional intelligence equips people with a sense of purpose and the tools to cope with life’s challenges – so that we can better focus on achieving our goals.

We think everyone deserves the opportunity to use these skills. So we put the development of emotional intelligence at the heart of everything we do.

What is emotional intelligence?

Emotional intelligence helps people identify and manage their own and others’ emotions. Every time we interact with someone, we apply our emotional intelligence.

Development in this area helps you:

• Identify, understand and manage your own emotions
• Identify and help others cope with their emotions
• Apply appropriate emotion to tasks like thinking and problem solving

Working with academia to build better communities

The success of our work is vitally important to us.

So we work with a range of academics to evaluate and evidence the need for emotional intelligence-based programmes and activities. Our desire is to enhance society’s understanding of early intervention, while developing services that lead to sustainable social impact.

Our commitment to this goal lead us to forge a collaboration with academics specialising in early intervention eight years ago. Together we created Winning in the Game of Life, an educational programme that meets the UK’s social, moral, spiritual and cultural (SMSC) curricular needs, and have given school children across the country a better chance to succeed.

We continue to look for new ways to innovate in this area and help our communities thrive.
