Passion Project Foundation Signs MOU with BBFA

The Passion Project (PP), its charitable foundation the Passion Project Foundation (PPF) and the British Business Federation Authority (BBFA) are pleased to announce that they have agreed to work together to enable the use of secure international, interoperable, and collaborative digital trust mechanisms that create digital inclusion, which are necessary for both financial and social inclusion, and every person’s wellbeing – social, physical, mental, financial and spiritual.

They will jointly encourage collaboration and establish a cohesive governance arrangement that supports collaborative academic research, innovation and commercial projects across UK organisations and with international allies and industry partners.

The focus areas will include but are not limited to the following:

a. Raising awareness, understanding, engagement, commitment and operational support amongst top level decision makers and resource providers to enable dynamic collaborative digital and data-driven action for the public good;

b. Use cases and opportunities related to:

i) Individual wellbeing;

ii) Parental and family wellbeing;

iii) Care and protection of vulnerable persons;

iv) The safe and proper use of delegations and Power of Attorney;

v) Education, training and continuous improvement of the individual; and

vi) Enabling practical financial inclusion.

c. Privacy and personal data management;

d. Collaborative governance including policies and standards;

e. Assurance and certification; and

f. Legislation and regulation.

During this process both the PPF and BBFA will look to ensure all parties concerns are incorporated into both the process and resulting solutions by involving a wide range of community, industry and government organisations. The parties consulted and included in their work will also include academic, commercial, NGOs, not for profit, government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that the necessary laws, policies and technological processes are in place to support this process.

To initiate the collaborative team-work, a number of projects are being established, under the auspices of a UK Government Cabinet Office pilot associated with achieving an enhanced and verifiable ‘identification’ process for government, industry and other appropriate bodies to identify individuals in a safe and secure manner that maintains a high degree of privacy for the individual.

The current list of projects includes:

  • Financial Inclusion
  • New Credit Profiling Techniques
  • Mobile Payments
  • Secure Supply Chains
  • Enhancing Detection of Economic Crime (including Mortgages & Conveyancing)

These projects are expected to link into other Passion Project related activities – the details of which will be announced in due course.
