The Passion Project is a human development initiative whose operation is designed to support societal development. At its core, it is dedicated to supporting the young and the vulnerable and being a voice for those who are not heard.

In keeping with this commitment, the Passion Project has created several products and services to support this vision – all of which have been designed with input from the partner network.

To further develop its knowledge and evidence base The Passion Project Foundation (PPF) is sponsoring an independent Commission dedicated to identifying the obstacles and issues currently facing young people growing up in the UK – aptly named as the “Commission on Young Lives” (COYL).

The Commission was launched in September 2021, to fight back with coordinated national action to transform the outcomes of the most marginalised teenagers. COYL is a major year-long independent commission chaired by Anne Longfield OBE, the former Children’s Commissioner for England.

During the year, the Commission will publish a series of reports covering a range of topics affecting the lives of young people living in the UK. These reports will lead to the presentation of the Commission’s final report to the House of Lords Select Committee on Vulnerable Children in November 2022.

The PPF will use the research data collected to help inform the establishment of its NEW Impact Index and contribute to the ongoing creation of the “Ladder” – a self-development framework used to assist young people in developing resilience and supporting their personal growth.
