The Foundation is pleased to note the recent developments with the Fair Futures Commission and its expansion into the London Borough of Hackney. Chaired by Jermain Jackman who also Co-Chairs the Passion Project Youth Council, the initiative looks to explore the views of young people and work with experts to channel their needs into recommendations for the local authority.
The recommendations from Fair Future’s Islington report were incorporated into the operation and delivery of the Passion Project and its associated corporate membership network. We are anxious to encounter the recommendations for Hackney.
About Fair Futures
The Fair Futures Commission, an independent body with support from Islington Council, originally launched in 2017 in Islington. This pioneering project sets out to explore and promote ways in which the future of children, young people and their families can be improved.
In February 2018, the Fair Futures Commission for Islington unveiled its recommendations for making the London borough the best place it could be to grow up in.
